Sikeston Parks and Rec has many activities planned this fall

(Sept. 14) -- Sikeston Parks and Recreation has plenty of activities scheduled for the rest of September and October.

  • Currently, registration is being held for Smaller Baller Soccer. The classes will be held at 5:45 p.m. Oct. 9, 16, 23 and 30 in the Clinton Building for children 3-6 years old. The classes are for toddlers who have little to no experience playing soccer. The class is great for smaller children who enjoy playing games with their parents and other kids and for parents that want to learn soccer and need to start at the beginner level. Parents will work one-on-one with their child during all classes. The cost is $35 per child and parents can register their children at www.bookeo.com/sikestonparksandrec
  • Registration is also open for the MiNi Bakes Cooking Decorating classes that are scheduled for Sept. 17 and Oct. 29. Sikeston baker duo Mi and Ni Hoang of Sikeston offers cookie decorating classes with a different theme each month. All supplies are provided and there is no skill necessary. The cost is $30 per person and registration is online at www.bookeo.com/sikestonparksandrec
  • SPR is once again calling all ghouls and goblins to participate in the 2nd Annual SPR Skelebration and Trunk or Treat event. The event is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 14 with the Skelebration event at the Clinton Building from 2:30-5 p.m. featuring food, games, bounce house, smores, hayride, pumpkin painting, and costume contest. • Immediately following the Skelebration will be a community Trunk or Treat around the lake at the Complex starting at 5 p.m. SPR encourages those planning to attend to register your space for the community Trunk or Treat portion of the day now. Passing out candy isn't the only option as groups can have games, a photo booth, make a spooky walk-through or more. The ideas are endless.
