Greg TurnbowGreg Turnbow moved to Sikeston from East Prairie, Missouri in 1982.  He attended Southeast State University where he majored in Business Administration.  After college, Greg remained in Sikeston and began a career in sales at Alan Wire Company.  He is currently one of three Regional Sales Managers.  

Since moving to Sikeston, Greg has served as President and Rodeo Chairman of the Sikeston Jaycees, has been awarded The Distinguished Service Award and was also selected as one of the Outstanding Young Missourians.  He has also coached youth sports for the YMCA and the Sikeston Youth Soccer League.

Greg and his wife Monica are the proud parents to son Blaze and daughter Alexa.  He enjoys hunting, fishing, grilling and spending time with his family and friends.

Merideth croppedRyan Merideth is a lifetime Sikeston native, graduating from Sikeston High School in 2000.  He then attended Southeast Missouri State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2005.  In January of 2007, Merideth began his career as a financial professional at Schumacher Financial Services in Sikeston where he is currently building his practice as a Financial Advisor.

Ryan is a past member and President of the Sikeston Jaycees and has served on the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Board of Directors.  In January of 2015, he was recognized by the Missouri State Jaycees as an Outstanding Young Missourian.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Sikeston Regional Chamber of Commerce, YMCA of Southeast Missouri, Kenny Rodgers Children's Center and the Sikeston Country Club.

Ryan and his wife, Katie, are the proud parents of 3 children:  Wyatt, Ben and Luke.  In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Brian SelfBrian Self is a 1986 graduate of Sikeston High School.  After high school, he graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Sports and Business Management.  For the next ten years, Brian made a career in the insurance and banking industries in Paragould, Arkansas where he was active in civic, volunteer, and leadership organizations.  Passionate about his hometown, he and his family moved to Sikeston in 2003 where he began working for First National Insurance Agency.  A few years later, he purchased the business and renamed it Self Insurance Agency. 

Since moving back to Sikeston, Self has been a board member and President of Sikeston Area Youth Baseball League; a member, officer and current president of the Lion's Club; deacon and life group teacher at Miner Baptist Church; a graduate of Leadership Sikeston; an active member of the Sikeston Park Board and a volunteer for various other community activities.  Brian and his wife Dana are the proud parents of Darby, Nate and Camryn.

Sparks croppedBrandon M. Sparks has been a Sikeston resident for over a decade.  He graduated from Three Rivers College with Magna Cum Laude in 2017, with a degree in Business Administration.  He's also a 2017 graduate of the Vision Sikeston class.

In January 2013, Sparks began his career as a property manager for Semo Managment Group in Sikeston.  He currently serves as managing partner/broker associate for Semo Management Group/SMG Realty after obtaining his real esate broker's license in 2016.

Brandon is active with the Sikeston Chamber and very passionate about making continued efforts in improving Sikeston.  He and his wife, Brooke, are proud parents of two sons, Cash and Tucker.  Brandon is also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
 

 

Vest Baker, Council Member - Ward 2

Vest Baker

Vest Baker is from New Madrid, MO where he graduated Valedictorian of his high school class in 1999. After earning a degree in General Business Administration from Mississippi State University in the spring of 2003, Vest moved home and began growing the relatively new family farming business. Since then, Vest has developed this business while remaining constantly involved in his community by volunteering and serving on New Madrid’s City Council and Park Board.

In 2014, Vest and his family moved to Sikeston. Vest’s wife has proudly worked for Sikeston Public Schools since 2010, and both of their children attend schools in the district as well. Since living in Sikeston, Vest has become involved with the local youth by coaching city football and baseball teams, is member of First United Methodist Church and Church Board, and volunteers for SPS sports events while serving as a Sikeston Booster Club Board Member. He won the Jaycee Outstanding Young Farmer Award in 2015.

When Vest isn’t working, he loves to spend time with his family. They travel for their children’s ball tournaments and horse shows and have a great network of support in the Sikeston community.

 

David Teachout, Council Member - Ward 3

David Teachout

David Teachout is a lifelong resident of Sikeston and is currently the Body Shop Manager for TAG Truck Center.

From 2003-2009, Teachout was the representative for Sikeston City Council Ward 3 and he also served on several civic and community boards including the Kenny Rogers Children’s Center Board, Department of Public Safety Advisory Board, and Tourism Board. 

Teachout presently serves as President of the Missouri JCI Senate.  He is past President of the Sikeston Jaycees, past member of Sikeston Jaycees Bootheel Rodeo Board of Directors, recipient of the Sikeston Jaycee’s Distinguished Service Award and Missouri Jaycees’ Ten Outstanding Young Missourian Award. 

Teachout and his wife, Kathy, are members of the First United Methodist Church.  They have one daughter, Lauren, son-in-law, Ryan and granddaughter, Evelyn who live in Tennessee.

Onethia Williams

Onethia Taniel Williams is a Manager of a Day Center in Caruthersville, MO.  When she is not working, she enjoys spending quality time with her family.  Onethia has been happily married to her husband Jimmy for 20 years and they have 4 beautiful children-Davion, Jimela, Jimmy Jr., and Dontrez.  She also has 2 grandchildren-Davion Jr. and Ariel.  

Onethia was born and raised in East St. Louis, IL and graduated from East St. Louis Sr. High School in 1988.  She later attended State Community College where she graduated with her Associates of Arts and Associates of Science degree.  After graduating, she began working as a Coordinator over an Early Intervention Program.  In 2004, Onethia and her family moved to her husband's hometown of Sikeston.  Ms. Williams graduated in 2016 from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Christian Counseling degree.

Onethia attends Cornerstone Baptist Church where she serves as Secretary of the Willing Working Women Ministry, Chairperson of Chat and Chew Book Reading Ministry and a choir member.
