Steven Burch, MayorSteven H. Burch, a native of Sikeston, graduated from Sikeston High School and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agriculture Business from Southeast Missouri State University. 

Steven has been involved with the family business, Burch Food Service, since 1977.  He has served as President of Burch Food Service from 1999 to present. 

He is a past President of the Sikeston Jaycees, past Rodeo Board Chairman and recipient of the Jaycees Distinguished Service Award.  Burch Food Service was recognized by SACC as Business of the Year in 2008.
Burch and his family are members of the First United Methodist Church.  Steven and his wife Tammy have one son, David, who currently attends Wake Forest University.

Merideth3Ryan Merideth is a lifetime Sikeston native, graduating from Sikeston High School in 2000.  He then attended Southeast Missouri State University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration in 2005.  In January of 2007, Meridth began his career as a financial professional at Schumacher Financial Services in Sikeston where he is currently building his practice as a Financial Advisor.

Ryan is a past member and President of the Sikeston Jaycees and has served on the Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo Board of Directors.  In January of 2015, he was recognized by the Missouri State Jaycees as an Outstanding Young Missourian.  He has also served on the Board of Directors for the Sikeston Regional Chamber of Commerce, YMCA of Southeast Missouri, Kenny Rodgers Children's Center and the Sikeston Country Club.

Ryan and his wife, Katie, are the proud parents of 3 children:  Wyatt, Ben and Luke.  In his free time, he enjoys fishing, hunting and spending time with family and friends.

Brian Self, Mayor Pro Tem/Council Member At-Large

Brian SelfBrian Self is a 1986 graduate of Sikeston High School.  After high school, he graduated from Arkansas State University with a degree in Sports and Business Management.  For the next ten years, Brian made a career in the insurance and banking industries in Paragould, Arkansas where he was active in civic, volunteer, and leadership organizations.  Passionate about his hometown, he and his family moved to Sikeston in 2003 where he began working for First National Insurance Agency.  A few years later, he purchased the business and renamed it Self Insurance Agency. 

Since moving back to Sikeston, Self has been a board member and President of Sikeston Area Youth Baseball League; a member, officer and current president of the Lion's Club; deacon and life group teacher at Miner Baptist Church; a graduate of Leadership Sikeston; an active member of the Sikeston Park Board and a volunteer for various other community activities.  Brian and his wife Dana are the proud parents of Darby, Nate and Camryn.

GilmoreGilmore, a native of Sikeston, graduated from Sikeston High School and received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

Gilmore has been active in the community since returning home to Sikeston in 1999, having served on the boards of the Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Sikeston Country Club, the YMCA of Southeast Missouri, as well as Missouri Delta Medical Center's Foundation and Board of Directors.  He is also a Cub Scout leader for Pack 41 in Sikeston.

Jon was the 2011 President of the Sikeston Area Chamber of Commerce as well as past President of the Sikeston Jaycee Rodeo Board of Directors, having received the Outstanding Young Missourian Award and Jaycee Distinguished Service Award in 2010.

Gilmore is co-owner/co-manager of Semo Title Company and a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church.  Jon and his wife, Angela, have three young children.

SettlesBorn and reared in Matthews, MO., Councilman Gerald Settles graduated from Southeast Missouri State University.  He attended Kellogg Business School at Northwestern University.

Settles retired from Eli Lilly and Company as well as Dow Chemical Company.

Karen R. Evans, Council Member - Ward 3

EvansKaren Evans is a graduate of Sikeston High School and Southeast Missouri State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Evans has been employed by Bootheel Counseling Services as the Fiscal Director since July 2006.  She is a member of the Fiscal Officers for the Missouri Coalition of Community Mental Health Centers and a 2010 graduate of the Sikeston Leadership Program.  Karen is presently on the Habitat for Humanity-Sikeston Area Board of Directors and attends the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Mary White-Ross is a graduate of East Prairie High School, attended Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts from Southeast Missouri State University, Cape Girardeau, MO. 

Mary has been a resident of Sikeston for over thirty years and is active in her community.  Mary served on the Founding Board of Directors for the Sikeston Area YMCA, was appointed to Sikeston’s Planning & Zoning Commission, and served as a former board member of Mission Missouri. She was also elected to two terms on the Sikeston R-6 School Board.  She is a retired employee of the City of Sikeston, where she worked as the Municipal Court Clerk for twenty-two years. 

In 2013, Mary was the recipient of the Sikeston Regional Chamber’s Community Volunteer of the Year Award.  She is currently active with the Sikeston Area Dr. Martin Luther King Planning Committee, Charter member of the Daughters of Sunset, and Board member of the Southeast Missouri Lincoln University Alumni Association.  A member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, she serves as Class 3 Adult Sunday School teacher, secretary of the Mission Society, President of the Pastor’s Nurses Unit, Chairperson of the Floral Committee and is a member of the Kitchen Committee.  

Mary White-Ross is married to Robert Ross and is the parent of four children, Michele, Sonya, Eugene and Douglas.  She also has nine grandchildren.
