Cosmic Pickleball event set for Saturday

Pickleball will have a different look to it Saturday night when Cosmic Pickleball will be played at the Sikeston Recreation Complex as part of the Total Eclipse of the Park events.

From 7-10 p.m. recreation pickleball players can take part in cosmic pickleball for no charge.

Abbi Lindsey, recreation coordinator for Sikeston Parks and Recreation, said the lines on the pickleball courts will have glow tape on them and glow streamers will be on the nets. Players will use glow balls. There will also be black lights used to help illuminate the glowing items.

There is no need to register, and the event is for beginners as well as advanced players. Lindsey said those who do not know how to play pickleball can show up and someone will teach them how to play.

Lindsey also encourages those who play to bring their own paddles and dress for the occasion. Players should also bring their own chairs and drinks.
