Planning and Zoning actions, Feb. 6, 2024
The Planning and Zoning Commission approved a use variance for a day care at 317 Dorothy in a meeting held Tuesday, Feb. 6.
Robert and Betty Mitchell are planning to open a daycare at the address, called New Adventure Childcare Academy. The business will run from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
After approval from the Planning and Zoning Commission, the measure will now go before the Sikeston City Council at a future meeting for final approval.
Also at the meeting, Shirley Love addressed the commission about changing the name of Osage Street or North Street to Martin Luther King Jr. She was referred to the traffic committee and city council as the planning and zoning commission doesn’t have the authority to change the name of a street.
