POSITION: Public Works Grant Writer/Administrator

COMPENSATION: $60,000

The City of Sikeston is seeking applications for the position of Public Works Grant Writer/Administrator. The position will Write grant proposals and secure funding for City departments and partner organizations as requested with approval and assignment of project by City Manager and/or Director of Public Works.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Preference may be given to those with an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Public Administration, Business Administration, accounting or closely related field. Must have (5) five years of full-time experience in grant writing, financial auditing, project management or related field or a combination of education and experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Project Management skills and ability to prioritize work and resources. Must possess knowledge of standard office machines and equipment including prior experience and working knowledge in computer technology and software programs to include Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint, etc. May be required to work irregular hours as needed. Must maintain active landline or cellular telephone; based upon job assignment, will be required to successfully complete drug/alcohol screening and intensive background checks.
