Council Actions - July 30, 2018

During today’s Council meeting, the following actions were taken:
 
A.  Approved Bill #6108, Amending Regulations of Pawnbrokers which will allow grandfathered pawnshops to relocate without any restrictions (including restrictions related to distance from residential areas, churches and schools) other than restricted to zoning categories that allow pawnshops.
 
B.  Conducted first reading of Bill #6106, Property Maintenance – Tall Grass Modification to reflect 10” as being the violation height for tall grass.  Second reading will be conducted at the August 6th Council meeting.
 
C.  Conducted first reading of Bill #6110 to re-plat the Villas at Arbor Walk Subdivision.
 
D.  Conducted first reading of Bill #6111, rezoning a tract of land in Wing Lake Estates, 3rd Addition located South of Colonel George E Day Parkway and North of U.S. Highway 60 from “AG” Agriculture to “R-4” Two Family Dwellings.
 
E.  Conducted first ready of Bill #6112 for approval of proposed subdivision, Wing Lake Estates, 3rd Addition located South of Colonel George E. Day Parkway and North of U.S. Highway 60.
 
F.  Approved authorization for Department of Public Safety to proceed with applying for the Bryne Jag Grant.  This non-shared grant for $14,521 is used to purchase body worn cameras and services contract for video storage.
 
G.  Authorized approval for Department of Public Safety to purchase 10 sets of fire turnout gear from Sentinel Emergency Solutions in the amount of $32,881.44.
 
H.  Authorized Public Works Code Enforcement Division to purchase a used 2012 Chevrolet Crew Cab pickup truck with 47,000 miles in the amount of $12,500.
 
I.  Authorized Public Works Department to utilize LCRA funding to purchase two (2) John Deere Z930M mowers from Greenway Equipment Company, Inc. at $9,303.91 each, totaling $18,607.82. 
 
J.  Other Items:  Due to Labor Day, the regular Council meeting for September has been rescheduled to Monday, September 10th at 5:00 p.m.
