Council Actions - June 4, 2018

During yesterday’s Council meeting, the following actions were taken:
 
A.  Council awarded the purchase of a digital sign for the recreation complex to Canedy Sign & Graphics in the amount of $30,084.40.
 
B.  Council was briefed on IT’s bid to purchase core switches and to upgrade the network infrastructure.  Bid packets were sent out May 25 with the bid opening scheduled for June 8th.  Authorization to award this bid will be at the June 11th meeting.
 
C.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6097, FY19 Budget which represents the proposed appropriations for the City of Sikeston for the period July 1, 2018 through June 30, 2019.
 
D. Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6096, FY19 Staffing & Compensation Levels.  Staffing for FY19 will consist of 124 full time employees, 15 part-time and 9 seasonal.
 
E.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6103, FY18 Budget Amendment which includes the taking over animal control services, acquisition of the South Industrial Park, the Lil Peddler building and the Unilever South building.
 
F.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6098, authorizing the installation of stop signs at 9 locations in the City of Sikeston.
 
G.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6099, authorizing the installation of three (3) handicap parking places at 508 E. Center St.  This request was made by Bishop Nathaniel Green on behalf of New Life Beginnings World Outreach Center.
 
H.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6100, CAPCO Subdivision request consisting of .091 acres and lies south of Applegate Boulevard, north of Hill Top Avenue and west of Tanner Street.
 
I.   Council approved Emergency Bill #6101, authorization to rezone Kelley Estates Subdivision to C-3, Highway Commercial District.  This land is located along the East side of US Highway 61 North and North of 2040 North Main Street.  Due to time requirements, this matter was presented as an emergency measure.
 
J.  Council approved Emergency Bill #6102, request for proposed subdivision Kelley Estates, which consists of 1.47 acres and is located along the East side of US Highway 61 North and North of 2040 N. Main Street.  Due to time requirements, this matter was presented as an emergency measure.
 
K.  Conducted 1st Reading of Bill #6105, Supplemental Agreement #1 for airport runway crack seal project.
 
There being no other items, the meeting was adjourned into Executive Session for Security & Property.
