Council Actions - June 5, 2017

During their June 15, 2017 meeting the Sikeston City Council took the following actions:

  1. Approved the Airport Hangar Ground Lease for Jeff Hux.
  2. Approved the Engineering Service Contract with Waters Engineering for Sikeston Memorial Airport Runway Project
  3. Other items: 
DPW Director Lancaster informed Council that MoDOT contacted him regarding their Cost Share Program.  Lancaster suggested the City submit an application for drainage improvement on Salcedo Road.  With the deadline for submission being the end of June, Council approved submitting the application.

Mayor Burch received a request regarding the painting of the silo that is located by Matthews Park.  Research into the cost of paint and maintenance of this project was suggested.

Mayor Burch also was asked to consider hanging a picture of Col. George Day at the airport.  It was suggested that Staff look into drafting guidelines/criteria for what would be displayed at the airport. 

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.  Council’s next meeting will be held at 11:30 AM, June 26.
