Strategic Planning Meetings for Sikeston's FutureàNext
Meeting is August 28 |

With the last community planning effort having been completed in
the late 1980’s, the Sikeston City Council is undertaking a
strategic planning effort to identify the community’s strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
All meetings will be held at the Sikeston High School
Cafeteria from 5:30-8:30 PM. All Sikeston residents are
invited. |

Delinquent Personal Property Tax List is Published |
|
The City of Sikeston has
published a list of all individuals and businesses who are
currently delinquent on their personal property taxes.
Previous newspaper articles
have been posted notifying citizens of the deadlines in order to
avoid publication of the names of individuals and businesses.
This list published on this web site will be periodically
updated. To have your name removed from the list, payment must
be received at the City Collector's Office, 105 E. Center Street
or may paid by credit card by phone. For more information,
call the City Collector’s Office at 471-2193. |

the State of Missouri that is required to develop a
Stormwater Program, which addresses water quality issues.>>More |

Orgill Selects Sikeston as Site for Super Distribution Center |
|
Orgill, Inc., the largest independently owned hardware and home
improvement products distributor in the nation, today announced
plans to build and consolidate a new state-of-the-art warehouse
and distribution center in Sikeston, Missouri.
Construction on the 795,000-square-foot “Mid-America
Supercenter” is scheduled to begin in August, 2008, and is
expected to be completed in August, 2009. It will be built on a
70-acre site and will be expandable to one million square feet.

City Cracks Down on Littering With 24 Hour Litter Hotline |

The
City of Sikeston takes the problem of littering very seriously.
So in an effort to crack down on littering, we have now
established a litter hotline. This hotline will ring into our
24 hour communications center. That number is

Sikeston Board of Municipal Utilities have partnered to bring a
free PC based Internet Information and Emergency Alert System to
the area. “Sikeston InfoLink” connects users to commonly
accessed informational
websites, the National Weather Service,
the Department of Homeland Security, the State’s AMBER Alert
System, and local governmental entities for official notices and
announcements & now RSS feeds.
